In fact, when we look for a house, the trees are more important to me than the house itself. I love to sit beneath a tree when the breeze is playing through the leaves, causing them to flutter and rustle. I love their smell, their shape, and the shade that they provide.
I have a book called "The Healing Energies of Trees" by Patrice Bouchardon. It's a wonderful resource for a tree lover.judy in kyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05810068743975026564noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2234352629821148596.post-61060119600836636932009-02-19T20:23:00.000-06:002009-02-19T20:23:00.000-06:00TPC,Hey you! moving is a trip and I've done my sh...TPC,
Hey you! moving is a trip and I've done my share either moving myself, or my kids, or helping a friend. Its fun at the time and yes the smell of pizza is so fashionable at fellowship times such as these.
Trees? you're kidding? I love them to the point that my daughter has stated that when I'm in a wheel chair in my later years she will wheel me out to a forest and serve me ice cream and creal. And a great idea. I move...What a beautiful post... And a great idea. I move a lot myself. I can see how seeking trees is a good thing to do when moving because they seem solid, stable, strong and THEY have the roots that perhaps I might not. And therefore they can ground you.

If I lived nearby, I'd offer to come help you pack. I think it's a nice way to visit with your friends, to chat while packing. Or painting the new place. And Pizza is essential for that!

I too have moved many, many times -- lived in 5-6 cities now and have moved about every 2 years in each of those. It is getting to the point that I am more drawn to the idea of picking somewhere and settling in. Moving gives me the excuse to constantly streamline my posessions (a very good thing) but as the years compound, the stuff that remains does grow and I am not so delighted with always having storage areas. A house, someday... I know it's coming...Sydneyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10085490655524570481noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2234352629821148596.post-39882953089908535992009-02-16T22:26:00.000-06:002009-02-16T22:26:00.000-06:00trees are magical things. i would love to send you...trees are magical things. i would love to send you a photo of a giant fig tree i met this week-end. its hundreds of years old and holds a myriad of life....x jJanellehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05125077795925721552noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2234352629821148596.post-73780503110210478942009-02-16T21:53:00.000-06:002009-02-16T21:53:00.000-06:00I find comfort in trees too, Cowboy. When I was you...I find comfort in trees too, Cowboy.
When I was younger, I moved 24 times in 24 years, never celebrating a birthday in the same house twice. There is nothing for me more wondrous than standing at the base of one of those giants and staring upward into the unknown.
